Lewis “Lew” Chapman

Lew Chapman is founder of Aggregated Emergency Management, LLC (AEM7P), a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Verified Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB). AEM7P provides specialized support for investment grade lighting audits, LED lighting installation, electrical, data recovery (DC), business continuity (BC) and data center infrastructure management (DCIM) services. A former U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Beret) and Vietnam veteran, he leads a seasoned management team and oversees the day-to-day operations of this fast growing company.

As the former Chief Energy Management Officer for the District of Columbia Government (DCG), Mr. Chapman had responsibility for the development of the 1999 Y2K emergency energy planning, demand and supply side energy management options, and the auditing of 3,400 monthly utility bills. Mr. Chapman developed the DCG’s first-ever natural gas procurement program utilizing the DCG’s deregulation law. This procurement strategy was verified to have saved one million + dollars in the first year.

In 2000, he drafted for the DCG a legislative Bill that for the first time allowed the use of Energy Saving Performance Contracting (ESPC). Lew then organized along with the DCG’s Deputy Mayor, a senior municipal manager’s committee that invited the U.S. Department of Energy’s Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) to assist the DCG with ESPC planning.

Lew has received numerous civic and teacher awards and is a member of military, professional and community organizations including the Special Forces Association-Chapter 11; the Georgia Energy Services Coalition (ESC); The American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE); and a former member of the Howard University Community Relations Committee. In 2011, he was awarded Teacher of The Month (January) by the Riverwood International Charter High School’s principal (Sandy Springs, GA) and the Atlanta Coca-Cola Bottling Company. Lew holds a B.A. in Economics and graduate studies in Macroeconomic Analysis.

Lew’s paratrooper training taught him the 7 Ps. Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance. He completed his training at Fort Benning, as an Honor Graduate.
